AmeriCorps Member Wanted: The Garrett County Health Department has a position for individuals interested in joining the AmeriCorps program. The members will work with the health department after school programs, direct a teen health theater troupe, assist in the child safety seat program and highway safety program, dental education program and coordinate agency recycling and Adopt-a-Highway projects. Applicants must be committed to community service and further education; be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent. The position is full time. Member will receive a living allowance as well as an educational award of $4,725.00 at the completion of one year of service. Health benefits and child care reimbursement are available to eligible participants. The position is for a one year term. Background checks are required prior to beginning service.
