Beach Blast event scheduled for June 14

The annual "Play Hard, Live Clean" Beach Blast is scheduled for June 14 th at Deep Creek Lake State Park . This free event is open to Garrett County residents completing 6 th grade through age 20.

This year's Beach Blast will include a giant obstacle course and slide, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, kayaking with Wisp Outdoors, a Land & Lake Team Relay, music by Sounds Fun Entertainment, and games with prizes. Teams interested in participating in the basketball tournament must be made up of registered participants wearing sneakers.

The Beach Blast will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. All activities are free and available only to participants who are registered with a completed registration form, including parent signature. A $3 per person park admission fee applies, unless a Beach Blast flyer is displayed in the vehicle's front window. Registration forms may be picked up and dropped off at the Garrett County Health Department Room 206 and are due to the office by noon on June 13 th for pre-registration. Participants bringing completed forms to the event will be added until registration limit is reached. The registration form is also available online at www.garretthealth.org .

“Our goal is to continue to provide entertainment for local youth in an environment free of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs,” said Beach Blast organizer Venessa Stacy of the Garrett County Health Department.
