“Play Hard. Live Clean.” Campaign Schedules Two Events

The “ Play Hard. Live Clean.” Campaign will offer two free events for youth and teens interested in having fun without alcohol, tobacco or drugs.

The “ Play Hard. Live Clean.” and Garrett 8 Cinemas will host Middle School Movie Night on Friday, June 4, for the 7:10 showing only. A free ticket to Shrek: The Final Chapter will be given to Garrett County residents 6 th through 8 th grade who are among the first 150 guests to arrive at Garrett 8 Cinemas. Proof of age and residency may be required; a report card may be used as proof. The showing is also open to the public, allowing parents to attend with their children as long as seats are available.

The “ Play Hard. Live Clean.” Campaign and Deep Creek Lake State Park will once again offer the Beach Blast event for Garrett County residents finishing 6 th grade through 20 years of age. This year's Beach Blast will be held – rain or shine – on Thursday, June 17, from 1 to 5 p.m. Permission forms and additional details will soon be available in public schools, at the Garrett County Health Department (Room 206), on the department's website, or on facebook at Play Hard. Live Clean .

“Play Hard. Live Clean.” is a campaign to encourage youth to choose a positive lifestyle, free of drug use and underage alcohol and tobacco use. The campaign is sponsored by a grant from the Governor's Office for Children through the Garrett County Partnership for Children and Families, Inc. / Local Management Board and the Garrett County Health Department with direction from Drug Free Communities Coalition.
