Garrett County Deputy Health Officer Receives
Award from MedChi
Dr. William W. Pope, Garrett County Deputy Health Officer recently received The Dr. Henry P. and M. Page Laughlin Award. The plaque reads “For your outstanding commitment as GC Deputy Health Officer and your distinguished service to the physicians and patients of Maryland .”
The Dr. Henry P. and M. Page Laughlin Award was established by Dr. Laughlin, a MedChi member of over 58 years, to honor physician members for their contribution to medicine.
“Dr. Pope was chosen to receive the 2009 Distinguished Public Officer Award because MedChi leadership and staff felt that he was exemplary in his service for Garrett County ,” said Catherine A. Johannesen, a spokesperson for MedChi, the Maryland State Medical Society.
