Oakland to Host National Night Out Block Party

The sixth annual National Night Out in Oakland will take place on Tuesday, August 4 th from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. in front of the Oakland Train Station. The event will be a Block Party complete with hotdogs and watermelon, carnival type games, fire and rescue vehicles, and a feature performance by the Charlie Kinney band. The Block Party is being sponsored by the Club 21550 Community Planning Group and the 21550 SADD Group with support from the Oakland Police, the Oakland Town Council, and Oakland / Mountain Lake Park Lions Club. National Night Out activities are observed in cities across the country and are designed to strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.
