The DARE to be You reinforcing workshop, DARE to be Healthy, consisted of three programs from the Garrett County Extension Office, We Can, Color Me Healthy and Up to the Challenge. The southern end DARE to be You families enjoyed learning about living a healthy life style through increasing exercise and eating healthily. The program began each evening with a family meal. After dinner was served the DARE to be You staff offered some entertainment through fairy tale skits written to educate children and parents about the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. Amy Ritchie, Dietician at the Garrett County Health Department, was the special speaker each evening. DARE to be Healthy is coming to the Grantsville Elementary School on May 7, 14, 21, and 28, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Parents and children who have completed the 20-hour DARE to be You program are invited to attend.
