Volunteers are Caring for the Community
The Garrett County Health Department hosted a Western Theme Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on May 20, 2008, at the Bittinger Mennonite Church . Sixteen different volunteer groups were recognized giving a grand total of 6,909 volunteer hours in the past year. The evening consisted of a meal, entertainment, and awards. Anyone interested in joining a community planning group in your area or would like to become a volunteer at the Health Department, contact Brenda Sisler at 301-334-7730.
