Grantsville Involvement Group Educates with Fatal Vision Goggles

The Grantsville Involvement Group (GIG) recently held an event at The Bowler in LaVale, Maryland. Shown above is J.R. Beitzel throwing a ball while wearing Fatal Vision® Goggles. The goggles distort vision and cause behaviors that are similar to behaviors exhibited by someone under the influence of alcohol or other drugs. This fun event was followed by an explanation of the effects of alcohol on the body. Each GIG event is tobacco, alcohol and drug free and anyone is invited to attend. New members are encouraged and welcomed. Next meeting is April 29th, 6pm at the Grantsville Town Building. Activities of GIG are supported in part by funds from the Garrett County Health Department to promote healthy living and prevent risky behaviors. For more information, contact Sharon Menges at 301-895-3111 ext. 6528.
