STEAM Members Testify in Annapolis
Tabitha Ringer and Chelsie Custer, members of the local STEAM (Student Tobacco Elimination Among Minors) groups, testified on February 25, 2008, before the House Economic Matters Committee on a local bill. The proposed legislation would change tobacco sales to minors from a criminal to a civil penalty. If passed, the law would go into effect October 1, 2008. Ringer is a senior at Southern High School and Custer is a sophomore at Northern High School.
