News Release For Immediate Release: February 7, 2008 Contact Person: Kendra Todd, 301-334-7730 Club 21550 Donates to Landon's Library
Pictured above are members of Club 21550 Community Planning Group presenting the proceeds of their Christmas Trim-A-Tree project to Crystal Roberson-Boal and Brian Boal, organizers of Landon's Library. "When people found out that the proceeds from our project were going to Landon's Library, the donations started rolling in faster than we could keep up with!" stated group member Janet Mosser. "A total of $557 was raised because of the generosity of the community and the love for little Landon and his family." The tree, donated by Jay Rice, was displayed throughout the holiday season in the gazebo beside the Garrett County Museum. The ribbon for the more than 250 bows was donated by the Garrett County Historical Society, and the bows were made in-kind by Mary Lou Stemple of the Party House. Landon's Library is an IRS approved section 501(c)(3) not for profit organization set up to encourage the importance of books and the importance of parent's active involvement in their child's lives through providing the community with monthly play-dates and other components.
