The Garrett County Commissioner signed a proclamation Tuesday declaring May as National Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month. The Asthma Coalition would like to remind persons who suffer from allergies and asthma that May is a high pollen month. Be sure you monitor your breathing, preferably with a peak flow meter, use medications properly and use a surgical mask when outdoors if you are particularly susceptible to allergies. The Garrett County Asthma Coalition has scheduled a free camp for children asthma suffers and their parents. Camp Mountain Air will be held at the Garrett County Health Department on May 13 th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and will include a number of activities that target children ages 6 to 14. Separate sessions will be held with parents to help them learn how to manage their child's asthma so their child can learn to live a normal life. For more information about the camp Click Here.
