April 6, 2006, is National Alcohol Screening Day. Garrett County will once again be one of the thousands of sites across the country to offer free, anonymous screenings for alcohol use disorders. The screening will be held on Thursday, April 6 th in the lobby of Social Services at 12578 Garrett Highway from 10:00 am to 2:00 p.m. This year's screening is sponsored by the Garrett County Health Department in partnership with Garrett County Department of Social Services. Refreshments will be provided.
This year's theme is Alcohol and Your Health . The slogan, " You don't have to have an ALCOHOL PROBLEM to have a PROBLEM WITH ALCOHOL," speaks to the how significantly families and loved ones are affected by the drinking of someone else.
The screening will consist of a brief questionnaire designed to assist individuals in identifying potential problem areas. A professional will be available to assist and to provide health related information to participants.
