DARE to be You, an 11-week parent-child program, will be held Thursdays beginning on February 9th at the Grantsville Elementary School . The program focus at this site will be on parents and their children 2 ½ - 5 years old. DARE to be You focuses on basic key principles in decision-making and problem solving, self-discipline, assertiveness, positive communication and social skills, responsibility, role models, and self esteem. Rewards include family meals and a workshop incentive for completion of the program. In the activity illustrated above, Coltan Cervi proudly shows his mom, Elizabeth his “favorite things.” This activity gives children the opportunity to express their choices or preferences in several areas. Parents model this by expressing their choices at the same time.
