This year's "Play Hard, Live Clean" Beach Blast is scheduled for June 23rd at Deep Creek Lake State Park . This free event is open to Garrett County residents ages 11 through 20. The goal is to give youth a positive alternative to alcohol, tobacco, and drugs.
The Beach Blast will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. To take part in the activities youth must pre-register by June 16 th . Registration forms may be picked up and dropped off at the Garrett County Health Department Room 206, or at any branch of the Ruth Enlow Library. The registration form is also available online at www.garretthealth.org .
"Last year's Beach Blast was a great success, and with the line-up of activities that are scheduled, this year looks even more promising," said Beach Blast organizer Venessa Stacy of the Garrett County Health Department.
This year's Beach Blast will include music by Sounds Fun Entertainment and local band White Noise, horse carriage rides by Pleasant Valley Dream Rides, boating on Deep Creek Lake with Silver Tree Marina, kayaking with Mountain Streams, free food and numerous prizes from local businesses.
