Continuum of Personal Adjustment (CPA), is a program designed to meet the educational and emotional needs of children and adolescents who are having a difficult time adjusting to regular school classes. The CPA program features:
- Small class sizes
- A self-contained classroom with a teacher and one aide
- A therapist from Mental Health who meets regularly with CPA students
All personnel in the program are trained to help assist a CPA student with any problems he or she may be having that interfere with his or her performance in school.
The program's ultimate goal is to have students return to regular mainstream classes as soon as possible.
The CPA program is a cooperative service run by Garrett County Board of Education and the GCCMHC and serves Southern and Northern Middle and High Schools.
