Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.; after hours, leave message. Meetings on the last Thursday of each month from 3 - 4:30 p.m., except holidays (no December meetings). Meetings are free and open to all interested public. Meeting location is Garrett County Health Department, 1025 Memorial Drive, Oakland, Maryland.
This program provides education about HIV/AIDS (i.e. how transmitted, how to prevent, psychosocial effects, etc.); information about counseling, testing and medical treatment; and to assist affected persons and families in Garrett County to be self-sufficient. Educational information and presentations are available, assistance with housing-related funds, 24-hour telephone access, and leadership and coordination for council members (DSS, GC Ministerial Association, Red Cross, FSU, Project Home, etc.)
