At the Garrett County Health Department AmeriCorps members do the following:
Teen Health Theater
Member directs teen health theater group made up of high school volunteers who write, rehearse, and perform on health topics.Healthy Families
Member carries out the book recycling project for preschool children, assists the Healthy Families staff in meeting emergency needs of families, and prepares family incentive gift and material packets for new mothers.Dental Program
An AmeriCorps member works with the Health Department's Dental Clinic to promote preventive dental practices among children.Highway Safety Program
An AmeriCorps member works with the Garrett County Highway Safety Program to promote correct child safety seat use, safety belt use.
